Return to World War 2
Publisher: Activision
Developer: Sledgehammer Games
Also available on: PlayStation, PC
Featuring a Campaign, Multiplayer and a Zombies mode. The campaign has quite a lot of missions from Normandy to the Battle of the Bulge and to Berlin itself. Each mission can be quite varied with one having you as a tanker, the other a pilot, and even a spy espionage mission infiltrating a German embassy as a British spy.
The enemy has very good AI and can even surrender if you corner them and have the upper hand. It can be quite challenging on a higher difficulty too. The graphics and sound are excellent too despite being a game not made or even upgraded for the Series S/X. The atmosphere is very immersive and it really feels like your stuck in the World War 2 battlefields and it is made even better again through the use of headphones(highly recommended).
Your squad leader is played by actor Josh Duhamel and he gives an excellent performance as do the rest of the cast. Unfortunately not many people have played this great campaign because achievements show less than 10% have completed certain missions. So do give it a try if you like WW2 games. For me it's the best WW2 story mode so far out of any game.
Multiplayer and Zombies mode seem like good fun with a lot of different customisation options too. Like custom emblems and paints for weapons and new weapons to unlock. There are lots of different modes too but no 64 player matches unfortunately.
Good points:
+Fast loading even though its not upgraded for the Series X/S
+Great voice acting
+Excellent and varied missions
+Amazing graphics and sound
+Great immersive atmosphere
+Can be challenging
Bad points:
-No extra mission DLC
-No 64 player matches
Grade: A
Best World War 2 story that is really immersive and quite lengthy and a fun multiplayer and zombies mode too.
