After surviving a nuke and re-surfacing to find that everywhere is now a barren wasteland, you now have to try and find your sons kidnapper and survive the harsh elements and the new mutant and human threats. You can customize your character and choose your name that some characters will even pronounce out loud. You can also build your own bases and other survivors will even move in provided there is bed space for them. Some can even manage your shops or defences too. You'll need materials to craft the bases so you'll have to scavenge for them or buy them from towns.

There are a lot of missions and side missions to do here and multiple groups to join or defeat. You can make some people companions to follow you around and help you too. Conversation dialogue options let you choose how to deal with people or certain situations and that can affect future missions too. Typical Fallout enemies return here like Ghouls, Super mutants and Deathclaws as well as human enemies like Raiders.

The game is a lot better than Fallout 3 and a lot bigger too. It also has a survival mode too; which disables fast travelling, makes enemies do more damage and you also have to eat and drink and can only save while sleeping. There is a creation club to download more items and skins etc for paid currency too. If you like open world or survival or crafting games then it is a must play.
