Gears on next gen systems
Publisher: Xbox game studios
Developer: The Coalition
Also available on: PC
The latest instalment in the franchise features campaign mode with lead character Kait Diaz, versus, co-op campaign, and horde mode. It supports single-player gameplay and three-player local split-screen or online co-op. Horde mode returns, requiring five players to tackle 50 enemy waves with a boss every 10 waves. Players select from four categories: Assault, Tank, Support, and Promotional (Scout), each with 5 unique classes.
A new three-player cooperative mode, Escape, involves players as "Hivebusters" infiltrating Swarm hives with Venom Bombs to escape.
Competitive multiplayer includes Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Escalation, and a new mode called Arcade for casual players. Familiar weapons and enemies as well as new ones are included too.
There are many characters to choose from for the multiplayer modes, and now every character, except a couple of DLC promotional ones, is unlocked to use. In horde mode, each class has different abilities and can help with the tactics of the match, including building fortifications or being a team medic. Each one has a special power ability, such as instant team recovery or the ability to see and shoot through walls, etc.
Good Points:
+Horde mode is fun
+Co-op is good fun too
