WrestleMania 41

Date: Saturday, April 19th

Venue: Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Company: WWE

Match Card Results:

World Heavyweight Championship:

Gunther (C) vs. Jey Uso

The opening match was a very hard-hitting match! The two guys just went at it, beating the hell out of each other! It seems as though they both decided to be shoot wrestlers for this match. Both did well, and the match ended with Jey submitting Gunther with his own sleeper hold to become the new World Heavyweight Champion!

Noticeable moment: The welts on Jey's chest after the hard hits.

Winner: Jey Uso

Grade: A

This was entertaining, it's always better when they hit harder even if it's more dangerous, Jey winning is a surprise but the right choice.

World Tag Team Championship:

War Raiders (C) vs. The New Day

The crowd wasn't into this match during the first half, but they came into it though. To be honest, both teams did really well here, and there were some really hard hits and some high spots. The New Day won the Tag Team Championships with a pin and help from Kofi holding the legs of the opponent Ivar.

Noticeable moment: The very hard knee strike to the face by Erik to Xavier Woods.

Winner: The New Day

Grade: B+

I enjoyed this match; it would have been better if slightly longer though.

Singles match:

Jade Cargill vs. Naomi

The intro for Jade was weird and not good, but the match was good. Some good moves and reversals, and high spots, including a top rope bulldog by Naomi. The finish came with Jade hitting a very high and dangerous-looking powerbomb followed by her finisher.

Noticeable moment: Jade catching Naomi in a suplex position in mid-air from the top rope

Winner: Jade Cargill

Grade: B

This was a good match and impressive feats of strength too

United States Championship:

LA Knight (C) vs. Jacob Fatu

Nice intro for LA Knight and a really impressive match from both performers. The crowd was really hot for this one, and it's no surprise. It was full of hard hits, high-risk moves, and high energy. Some impressive spots included LA Knight jumping to the top rope and hitting a German suplex on Fatu. The match ended with Jacob Fatu hitting multiple top rope moonsaults and becoming the new United States Champion.

Noticeable moment: That top rope German suplex!

Winner: Jacob Fatu

Grade: A+

This was excellent, fast paced and full of good wrestling and a crowd that loved it.

Singles match:

Rey Fenix vs. El Grande Americano

Rey Fenix took the place of Rey Mysterio due to last night's injury. Another fast-paced match, with some excellent reversals and high-flying moves from both. I think Chad is one of the best wrestlers in the company! And entertaining too. This was a good match, and it ended with El Grande Americano hitting a headbutt from the top rope using the metal disc in his mask. I'm glad for him that he won this WrestleMania match.

Noticeable moment: El Grande Americano hitting a backwards 450 splash!

Winner: El Grande Americano

Grade: A+

Loved the moves, especially that reverse 450, and good storytelling with the metal disc helping him to win.

WWE Women's Championship:

Tiffany Stratton (C) vs. Charlotte Flair

It started with them just beating on each other like they really don't like each other, before slowing down. Some misplaced moves here. Why does Charlotte curse out loud during the matches? Unnecessary. Charlotte seemed to miss her timings here too and cut Tiffany also. This match got way better near the end. Tiffany won by her moonsault.

Noticeable moment: Tiffany losing part of her tooth

Winner: Tiffany Stratton

Grade: C

This got better, but Charlotte was sloppy. Glad Tiffany won and the right decision was made here.

Triple-threat match:

Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns vs CM Punk

Great intro by Seth, then an even better one from CM Punk. This had too many good moments to mention here, including suplexes on trash cans and Seth catching Roman in a pedigree while Roman attempted a spear! Multiple finishers and reversals. Roman put both Seth and Punk through both announce tables with powerbombs. Paul Heyman then turned on CM Punk and gave a chair to Roman Reigns! And Paul then turned on Roman Reigns and helped Seth! Seth then hit Roman with the chair and a stomp to win! Absolute cinema!

Noticeable moment: The double cross x2 from Paul Heyman

Winner: Seth Rollins

Grade: A+

This was an amazing main event. Everyone was excellent and the entertainment was 10 out of 10. Very surprising finish too!

Highlights:

+The Hard hitting moves

+The reverse 450 splash from El Grande Americano

+More than one match ended by Moonsault

+Seth Rollins with a great entrance using a flamethrower and an attire change

+The main event!

Lowlights:

-Some commentary sound or cue errors

-Charlotte missing her timings and being sloppy

-Jades strange intro

-Bret Hart seemed mad to be there

Grade: A+

Great night 1! Night 2 will have to be something really special to beat this. The main event itself will be better than the Cena match no doubt.

What did you think of night 1?

  • It was awesome!

  • It was bad!

  • Meh
